Obamacare saves Alabama family farm

Obamacare saves Alabama family farm

When accidents befall us health insurance, can mean far more than we ever thought possible. Just ask Hank Adcock, a 62-year-old farmer in Nectar, Alabama.

Adcock was working alone on his struggling third-generation farm when his hands were caught in a dangerous hay baler. The baler cut and crushed, amputating fingers and destroying muscle and bones.

Sow with Obamacare, reap rich rewards

The hospital bill amounted to $63,000, far more than Adcock and his wife could have afforded. Fortunately, last year they had opted to purchase an Obamacare health insurance plan. That was the first time the family had owned health insurance since the late 1980s. They simply couldn’t afford a policy costing $1,200 per month. Under Obamacare they were able to use tax credits to lower their monthly premium to $102 per month for a policy that paid Adcock’s hospital bill in its entirety.

From cautious to confident

Adcock reveals that when he first learned of Obamacare he was suspicious about how effective it would be. Now he says that he tries to tell everyone he can about Obamacare. “It’s the best thing that ever happened to us,” he said.

Perhaps, you don’t have a family farm to save. Whatever you have that’s most important in your life, let Newport Health Insurance eliminate some of the worry with an Obamacare plan that’s right for you.
